Which ingredients support lips during a cold-sore flare?
Mango butter, kokum butter and beeswax are the main moisture-barrier helpers. They can soften dryness, reduce moisture loss and protect tight or cracked skin around a flare. Peppermint, lemon, neem and clove oils are aromatic botanical ingredients, but they are not a proven cure for the herpes simplex virus and may irritate very sensitive or open skin.
